View Tribute Book Samuel “Sam” Lee Poage, 43, was born on August 19, 1979, in El Paso, Texas, and passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023, in Pearland, Texas. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Jack and Betty Poage.Sam was adopted at birth and he lived for short periods during his young life in Sugar Land, Salado, and Houston before moving to Pearland in 1984. He attended Pearland schools. He lived for a few months in Oklahoma where he started work as a plumbers helper. On returning to Pearland, Sam immediately got a job with a plumbing company. Sam held a journeyman license and a master plumbers license and eventually started his own company “Sam the Plumber“. Sam will always be remembered by his incredible talent, personality, spirit and his great sense of humor. He was kind, very generous, loyal, and always planning and working on something. His mom affectionately called him “my sonshine”. Sam will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.Services for Sam will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023, at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 West Broadway, Pearland, Texas. Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 – 6:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm.
