Sandra Lee Sowders Milheim (85), born May 22, 1940, in Washington, D.C., peacefully passed away at her home in Pearland, Texas on Dec 29, 2025, with her devoted daughter by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents, William D. Sowders and Amy Virginia Carter; husband, Alan Milheim; her brother, Harold Sowders; her cherished granddaughter, Jenny Ann Harrell; and her niece, Ginger Cox.
Sandy's love and legacy live on through her sisters, Joan Sowders Cone and Sharon Elder Lauersdorf; her daughter, Debbie Lee Harrell; her son-in-law, George; her granddaughters, Amanda Romano and Heather Roberts; her great-grandchildren, George Duree, Lynzie Roberts, Roxy Harrell, Ella Roberts, and great great grandson, Jake Duree; all of whom she adored. Her heart was also filled with love for her nieces, Peny Stewart, Amy Stevens, and Rani Lauersdorf, and her stepson, Richard Radcliffe.
Sandy's compassion and kindness inspired countless lives, especially those of the animals she selflessly cared for throughout her life. Her dream of finding forever homes for all animals will continue to inspire others. She leaves behind her dog, Dolly, whom she loved dearly. Sandy's extraordinary spirit will be deeply missed, yet her memory will be a blessing to all who knew her. She will be cremated, and her ashes will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Alan, at the VA cemetery in Houston, Texas.
