Bill & Sharon Manning were my Uncle & Aunt. I remember attending their wedding in Austin, Texas. That was a glorious occasion and a wonderful day for all concerned. As the years have passed we were able to get together every year at the Manning Reunion held each Easter at the farm in General near Toledo Bend. Started originally by Bill’s mother Dora And after her passing Sharon became the matriarch of the family and carried on with help of bill jr. after Bill Sr. Passed. she worked hard in this yearly event until her health precluded continuing. She was so dedicated to being sure all the relatives were invited and made them feel welcome and even more so when they brought a friend. Many of those visitors became permanent fixtures year after year. We will miss you Sharon and appreciate all you did for so long and for so many. Love from the biggs, the Hayes, and the stocker family's(all Manning’s)
Sharron was an incredible woman of quiet strength, deep love, and unwavering grace.
Sharron was a beloved high school English teacher, someone who nurtured not just minds, but hearts. She had a gift for words, but even more so, she had a gift for people. She listened with intention, spoke with kindness, and made you feel like you mattered. That was her way! She always added a “Texas saying” or two as well!
She was so proud of her family. She adored her son, Bill, and she deeply loved Nicole—his wife—not just as a daughter-in-law, but as family in every sense of the word.
I’ll never forget what she told me on an Easter family trip to the farm: how happy she was that Bill had found Nicole, how much she loved my sister, and how beautiful it was to see the two of them together. That meant the world to me! Anyone who loved my sister that much was instant family!
Her smile would light up the room. It was the kind of smile that made people feel welcome! She always made me feel like part of the family.
I’m happy knowing that she is in heaven with Bill Sr. She missed him so much. Their love was deep and enduring, and now they are reunited. The way she spoke about her husband made me smile. She held him dear to her heart.
That was who she was. She loved with her whole heart. She found joy in quiet moments and meaning in relationships that mattered—especially with Bill, Nicole and her grandchildren, Will and Samantha.
Her legacy lives on in her family, in her former students, and in all of us who were lucky enough to know her. We will carry her memory in our hearts and strive to honor her by living with the same love and kindness that she showed all of us.
I taught with Sharron for many years at LPHS. She was a wonderful teacher and friend. Her advice was always wonderful and I loved to hear her laugh. Students were lucky to have her and those of us in the English Dept. were lucky to work with her daily.
Mrs. Manning was a wonderful English teacher, and a supportive mentor and colleague! She will be remembered for her kindness!

I met Ms Manning when she bought her Grandaughter Samantha to Beacon Scholl where i was working . She would come at the end of the day to pick her up and she always had time to talk to all of us who were there.
Also a couple years on Samantha had made friends with a girl at our school and who had moved out of the area. Samantha eould get invited to her house in Katy and i would go along as well .and on that drive she would talk to me about Houston and the different parts as we passed through on the drive and how it had changed over the years . It was all so interesting to hear as i was a newcomer to the area
She tought me a lot on those drives that i will never forget
She was such sn interesting person i will never forget her .may she now rest in peace with her beloved Bill
I taught with Mrs. Manning at LPHS. She loved LPISD and her students. I remember many of late evenings when I would leave the school and she would still be in her classroom grading papers. She was dedicated to her craft and displayed so much love, grace and compassion towards her students. I will miss her smile and her legacy lives on through all the lives she touched.
Prayers for peace and comfort for those who knew and loved her.

I had the privilege of teaching alongside Sharron many years ago. We both taught Seniors; she taught English 4 and I taught Government. We had so many conversations about how it was important that we continued pushing our Seniors hard with our expectations because slacking off would only set them up for failure once they entered the real world. She loved our students!!!
Sharron was an incredible, dedicated teacher to the students at La Porte High School. She made an everlasting impact on the young people there and they were blessed to have her as their teacher.
Prayers to Nicole and the Manning family during this difficult time.

As she came into our family as Sharron with two RRs she quickly became Mimi to all of us. Gentle and kind she tolerated our crazy family and opened her arms and her heart to my daughter Nicole. What more could a mother ask for her daughter then to be loved by her mother in law. Mimi will always be remembered for her quiet and loving ways with my grandchildren. I will miss you Mimi, especially at Christmas when we celebrated in your special way. Here’s to you Mimi and all you meant to all of us.
Mimi was such a kind and loving soul. Her heart truly was as big as Texas. She poured her love and energy into everything she did — especially when it came to her family and her school.
She always had a signature “Texas saying” ready for us, and without fail, it brought a smile to my face. That’s one of the things I’ll cherish most — her warm, beautiful smile that could light up any room.
When my sister Nicole married Bill, Mimi would often tell me just how much she adored Nicole. She spoke of her with such tenderness — like a daughter of her own. It was deeply touching. Anyone who loved my sister that wholeheartedly had a special place in my heart, too.
I’ll never forget one Easter at the Farm when Mimi shared how happy she was that Niki and Bill had found each other. The joy in her voice was unforgettable. She saw them as a perfect match, and it filled her with such happiness — you could feel how much she truly meant every word.
Her family was her world, just as she was to them. Her love was constant, genuine, and deeply felt — and that love will be remembered always.
Rest in peace dear lady.
