View Tribute Book Shirley Jean Crowell passed away in Manvel, Texas, on Friday August 30, 2024, at the age of 78. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Gladys (Hall) Fried, husband, John Mark Crowell, and son, Jason Crowell. Left to cherish Shirley’s memory are her son, Michael LaBee and wife Yaqian Liu; grandchildren, Aiden, Paxton, and Grayson; and a host of other family and friends. Shirley met John Mark Crowell when they both worked for Hughes Tool company in Houston, Texas. They were married in Las Vegas on June 25, 1974, at the Little Church of the West Wedding Chapel. Shortly after their wedding, they moved to the Houston area and settled in Friendswood, Texas. Shirley and John Mark raised their sons Michael and Jason in Friendswood, staying there for 22 years before moving to Manvel, Texas, in 1998. In December of 2000, they purchased their first Travel trailer, and would go on many wonderful trips in it. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, and friend. She enjoyed cooking and sharing meals with her family every weekend and holiday. Shirley also enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and camping trips all around Texas. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Shirley’s family will be holding a Celebration of her life on Friday, September 6th, 2024, at Clayton Funeral Home of Pearland. The service will commence at 2:00 pm.
