View Tribute Book Sofia “Sonia” Zangirolami passed away peacefully on Monday, April 1st, 2024, at the age of 100. Sofia is preceded in death by her parents, Esteban and Xenia Zywczuk; husband, Mezio Zangirolami; and brothers, Emilio Zywczuk and Eugenio Zywczuk. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Adrian Zangirolami and wife Germana, and Claudio Zangirolami and wife Michelle; grandchildren, Mezio, Glen, Steven, Julia, and Andy; great grandchildren, Josep, Isabella, Emmett, Sabrina, Elliott, Jude, Graham, Audrey, Leonardo, and Alex; niece, Alejandra; great nephews, Jonathan, and Kurt; and a host of other family and friends. Sofia lived in four different countries throughout her life. Born in Poland, at age 6, she migrated with her family to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she grew up, married, and had two children. She lived there until the age of 40, when she moved to Venice, Italy, in 1962. Sofia stayed in Venice until 1974 when she moved to Houston, Texas. Sofia enjoyed tango music, reading books, and mastered Italian crossword puzzles while caring for her grandchildren. She loved nature and looking for shells, as well as shark teeth, at the beach. Sofia enjoyed traveling and visiting countries in Europe, North America, Central, and South America. She was a very happy person until the last moment of her life. Sofia will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Sofia’s life will be held on Friday, April 5th, 2024, at Clayton Funeral Home of Pearland. (5530 W. Broadway St, Pearland, Texas 77581) Sofia’s family will receive guests from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
