Sonja Marie Gaskill's Obituary
Sonja Marie Gaskill, 40, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family and all the lives she touched. Born in Shakopee, Minnesota and raised in Austin, Texas, Sonja lived every day the way she loved — fully, loudly, and without reservation.
She was the beloved daughter of Brenda Stevens, the little sister to her brothers Moe and Jared Stevens, and a proud and loving mother to her three children — Breeyana Limon, Zoe Limon, and Danny Gaskill. Being a mom was the role she cherished above all else. Her children were her whole world, and she poured herself into every moment she had with them. Sonja was the kind of mom who showed up wholeheartedly, for the big moments and the small ones alike. She celebrated her children's wins, held them through the hard times, and never missed a chance to simply be with them. Motherhood wasn't just something Sonja did — it was who she was, and she wore that role with more pride than anything else. She also leaves behind four cherished dogs who were loved every single day and will feel her absence in ways only a pet can.
Those who knew Sonja will remember her warmth, her honesty, and her ability to light up a room without even trying. She was funny, caring, and full of life — someone who could hardly see the bad in anyone. She carried a stubbornness she was proud of, a trait she happily shared with her mother and her kids. She had a soft spot for animals that she never tried to hide, which is exactly how four very lucky dogs found their forever home.
She found happiness in the simplest, sweetest things: the crack of a baseball bat, the twang of a country song, the chaos of Christmas morning, a shopping trip with the people she loved. She didn't need much to feel full — just her people, close and laughing.
She is survived by her mother, Brenda Stevens; her brothers, Moe and Jared Stevens; her three children, Breeyana, Zoe, and Danny; and four loving dogs.
She leaves behind an absence that words cannot describe, and a love that nothing can diminish.
