Sonya was my most memorable professor my first year at San Jac South, she was motivating and helped put my anxiety at ease. Some students in my class considered her a tough professor, I considered a great educator with truly reasonable expectations for her students. I am deeply saddened to hear of her passing, I wish more first year college students could experience being taught and guided by such an uplifting professor.

I just found out about you sister. You and your family are in my prayers.
I really enjoyed working with Sonya over the past 5 years. She was a caring instructor who always went above and beyond for her students. She was a very hard working and loyal person. We worked closely with one another on the CASP conference down in Galveston a couple years back. I have lots of great memories of laughing with Sonya. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Much love to her family.
