She is preceded in death by her parents Albert and Bobbie Childs. Left to cherish Sylvia’s memory are her partner Billy McCann; daughter Lisa Owens and husband, Kevin; son Christopher Meek and wife, Rose; sister Gail Burnett and husband, James; brother Tommy Jay Childs and wife, Elizabeth; grandchildren Tyler, Blaine, and Amelia, and many other family and friends.Sylvia was born on Galveston Island and lived the majority of her life in the Sagemont area. She was easy to approach and enjoyed talking to others, a friendly and good-natured soul. She always had exquisite taste and was extremely fashionable. In her spare time, she was an avid collector of antiques, paintings, plates, and figurines. She also enjoyed spending time making ceramics and stained glass. Sylvia will be missed by all who knew and loved her.Services for Sylvia will be held at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 West Broadway, Pearland, Texas. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022, at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
