I loved Tessa and miss her Carl. I am so sorry for yours and all of our loss. Kim Scheps
Broken hearted to lose Tessa, but so grateful for the uplifting celebration of her life on Saturday at Faith Lutheran in Bellaire. So many family and friends in attendance, reflecting the wonderful life Tessa led, so rich in love.

I met Tessa in 1964, our freshman year at East Rowan High School, I have so many fond memories of her that it is difficult to know where to begin. We shared so any school experiences, French with Mrs. Crowell, sock hops, parties and just school life in general.
One thing that really stands out is my automatic bond with her. She was such a kind caring person and very easy to make friends. She had a very pleasing personality and people were drawn to her.
After high school we lost contact for a while, but later in my life I moved to Houston and of course Tess & Carl were there and helped me settle in. During the following years we always stayed in touch. Some times only a quick 'hello" and other times very serious conversation. I am a 20 cancer survivor and when Tessa was just starting her treatments we had a lot to talk about. I thought she was in remission, if not cured . . . . so I was devastated when she passed away.
I loved reading her obituary . . . .not surprised by all the wonderful adventures and loves in her life. She was a "beautiful" light in this world and a "powerful force" !
I thank God for the blessing of Tessa in my life!
Tessa was loved by so many!
Carl, may you find Comfort and Peace from the wonderful memories of your life together!
Carl,
I only met Tessa a couple of times but could easily tell that she was very special person in your life. I send my deepest condolences to you during this very difficult time.
Tessa and my mom, Ellen Jane Hall lived on the same block in West University. My mom's house and yard somehow became "the gathering place" for many of the neighbors, especially those with dogs for pets. I attended more than one doggie birthday party at Ellen Jane's house. Her yard had a chain link fence surrounding the perimeter of her yard so dogs could run and play and chase each other all the way around her house.
Tessa and Ellen Jane became good friends over the years and Tessa took her to doctor's visits sometimes and was a source of moral support and welcome company for E.J. and for that I am appreciative. My mom passed late August of 2011 and I remember seeing Tessa at her funeral.
My condolences to Tessa's husband and family. I didn't really know her well but the image I will always remember is her with her two large black dogs in tow walking the sidewalk in front of my mom's house.
DEAR CARL AND FAMILY
I WAS SO SORRY TO LEARN OF TESSA’S PASSING. WHILE THERE ARE NO WORDS TO EASE YOUR PAIN AND GRIEF, I HOPE THE TIME YOU HAD TOGETHER AND THE MEMORIES YOU SHARED WILL BE OF SOME SOLACE FOR YOU DURING THIS VERY DIFFICULT TIME.
TESSA AND I WERE ERHS CLASSMATES (CLASS OF ‘64). WE LOST CONTACT W/EACH OTHER THRU THE YEARS, BUT RECONNECTED SEVERAL YEARS AGO VIA EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS. TESSA WAS SUCH A WONDERFUL, FULL OF LIFE PERSON W/AN INNATE ABILITY TO BE KIND AND GIVING.
MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY AND HEARTFELT CONDOLENCES, SANDY COOPERMAN

Carl, I am so sorry for your loss. Tessa was a beautiful woman inside and outside. You were both missed at our 55th high school reunion last weekend. I didn’t know she had been ill or I would have reached out earlier. I lost my husband 10 years ago and, after years of being a counselor, understand what lies ahead for you as you search for a “new normal”. Please contact me if I can help in any way. Janice Fleming Willett.
Tessa was my neighbor for many years. I enjoyed getting to know her and I was always so grateful when she would call me at work to tell me my escape artist of a dog had gotten out of the yard again. Tessa would take my dog into my home and keep her safe until I got home. She was just one of my favorite neighbors and we kept in touch through FB when I moved. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. My daughter worked at The Houston Zoo after college and would see Tessa
She was a special soul. My thoughts and prayers to her family.
