Dear mims famaily.sorry to hear about Doyle.
god bless ya'll

Mr. and Mrs. Mims, I was so sad to hear of Doyle's untimely passing. I remember so fondly our high school days and the friendship that we shared during those years. Although I lost touch with Doyle and most of my friends from that time, the memories that we shared are often thought of. Being a parent myself I cannot imagine your grief. I pray that God put his loving arm's around you and comfort you during this time of sorrow.
Some of my most cherished times during my 16 years in Texas were spent with Doyle. Traveling to meetings, riding in Harris on the Seawall, Mexican food on Thursdays, dirty townhouse at Pirates Beach, chicken fried steak from Lone Star on the Strand on Fridays, UT Football, balancing the budget, the 37 inch Toshiba and his crazy golf swing.
Doyle was the kind of person that could put any challenge in prospective. He taught me to plan for the future but live in the moment. Doyle was there for me when I faced health challenges in my life and I was blessed to be with him during some of his challenges.
Thank you Doyle –
Bix

We were so shocked and upset to hear of Doyle's illness and passing. Know that our prayers are with you at this very difficult time. We are making plans to travel to Brenham to be with you next Saturday morning.
Missing you - your best friend Joe D.
Doyle, I am going to miss you like crazy! Love Mary
Mimser:
You have always been a great friend through out the years and you were always there when we needed you for pack night, river trips and Old Timers Reunions, I miss our daily phone calls at 2:00
P.M. (always after your favorite tv show is over). I wish there was a way to call you in that big river in the sky. Be patient and one day the Old Timers will all be there with you to raft rivers again. You are truly missed by all your friends and fellow e-mailers. It just isn't the same checking my e-mail and not seeing a message from you.
I love ya man!!!!!!

Dear Mims family, Words cannot express my sorrow at losing Doyle. He was such a bright spot in an often harsh, dreary world. We were good friends in High School, but lost touch over the years. We became reconnected this last year through e-mail...yes, I was one of his 72 groupies. He brought joy, laughter, and smiles to more poeple than he will ever know. I thank God that He shared Doyle with us as long as He did. My thoughts, prayers, and love I send you. Into Heaven, the angels did lead him. Nelda Wilson Brooks
I always thought of Doyle as my big brother. Now I understand he was one of my guardian angels here on earth and he is now watching over me from the Gulf side of Heaven.
Doyle would say to me "Budro, gotcha back man" meaning that he was there for me looking out for my wellbeing when things would be dicey. There would be Doyle, with his perpetual grin, covering my vulnerable spot, physically, intellectually and spiritually. It was something I knew I could count on no matter the circumstance.
I know he is still looking out for me now and that is what I will be able to count on forever.
I am honored and blessed to call Doyle my friend.
God Bless You My Friend,
Budro
