Don Gillock
In the late 50’s and early 60’s, tom was my very best friend. We used to play ball together, spend the night together, shoot pellet guns, roller skate, ride Cushman scooters, fly gas powered model airplanes. His dad was our baseball coach one year too. Last time I saw him was in old Meadowbrook and he was driving a primer colored Mustang car. His first Ford I believe… Later I bumped into him working at Diamond Shamrock.I was doing phone work there and he mentioned to me about phone guys hiding out in the phone room there. True for sure! Tom was working on heavy machinery then, and later I heard he made foreman. I left him notice one day that I had a baby son. That would have been 1976. I left him my number, but he never called. I never saw him again. I still thought about him thru the years though. His mom used to work at Weiner’s and we would go with his dad and pick her up sometimes. His dad had a brand new 1960 Ford. Only man I ever knew named Shirley. Wish I had seen him in later years. We had lots in common, including Harleys… I guess now I can quit looking and asking around for him. Hope he is resting peacefuly. If Nancy and Mary are still in your life, give them my best…
