Sumner, New Mexico to Michael and Sally Hedrick, and passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023, in Houston, Texas.In 1953, at the age of 18, Tony joined the United States Navy, during the Korean Conflict, with duty on a destroyer in the far east. In 1956, after spending nine months in hospitals, he received a medical discharge.Following his service to his country, Tony graduated from Portland Electric College. He worked in Aerospace for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Oil and Gas, and retired from Diamond Offshore.Tony was married to the love of his life, Barbara McCarley Hedrick, for 37 wonderful years. He and Barbara loved to travel; they were blessed to visit many places all over the world. They also loved square dancing and were in an elite group called “The Spirits”, who traveled worldwide to perform. They squared danced together for more than 24 years.Tony was a charter member of the Shepard of the Heart Methodist Church in Pearland, Texas.Tony cherished his family and was a wonderful provider for them. His grandchildren affectionately knew him as their “Grandpa”. Tony will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.He is preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Hedrick; sons jeff Hedrick and wife, Joy, Tim Hedrick; daughter Sue Brown and husband, Jim; three grandchildren; one great grandchild, and a host of many other family and friends.
