I met Vena in Piecemakers quilt group at HFBC. One day I was walking by her and she stopped me to ask if I knew anyone who could help her sew her quilt blocks together and she would pay. I said I would help her but she didn’t need to pay me. Well, she wouldn’t let me do it if I didn’t let her pay. She was very generous but it was my pleasure to help her achieve her goal to give every member of her family a quilt for Christmas. She blessed me with her words of affirmation and kindness. I loved her dearly and will miss her. I thank God for my time with her and that she’s now with her Lord in heaven.
