So I worked as a vendor partner with Walter for several years during the implementation of Smart Grid at CenterPoint Energy, then the most advanced distribution management system for a large metropolitan power company, in the world. Walter was always a pleasure to work with on this project, and others too....straight shooter, not a sugar-coater, but good listener and fair judge. I am so happy that I called him a few months back to wish him well in his struggles, and we had a good conversation and he expressed appreciation for my gesture. Rest in Peace Walter.
