Morris Carrillo Jr passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024, at the age of 94. He is precededin death by his parents, Morris and Tomasa (Perez) Carrillo; son, Robert Carrillo; brother, John Carrillo; and sisters, Francis Carrillo, Virginia Carrillo, and Hope Carrillo. Left to cherish Morris’ memory are his loving wife of 68 years, May Carrillo; sons, Morris Carrillo III and Kenneth Carrillo; brother, Peter Carrillo; sister, Sally Chavez; grandchildren, Kristi, Patty, Julie, Morris, Amy, Christopher, and Cameron; six great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

 

Morris proudly served his country in the United States Army for more than 27 years; serving continuously during World War II, the Korean War, and Vietnam War. He retired in 1973 with the rank of Master Sergeant. Following his many years of military service, Morris continued to serve the country he loved as an election official in Friendswood, Texas. He further served his community by taking on various leadership and mentoring roles in the Boy Scouts of America’s Bay Area Council. He truly enjoyed assisting young men on their journey towards becoming Eagle Scouts. In his leisure time, Morris enjoyed fishing, golfing, and cooking for friends and family. His Steaks, Teriyaki Chicken, and home-made salsa were always in high demand. Morris leaves behind a legacy of service, selflessness, and patriotism. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. 

 

Funeral services for Morris will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, at the Friendswood

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 505 Deseret Dr. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 10:45 am, with the service commencing at 11:00 am with Bishop Todd Horman presiding. The service will be streamed via zoom at https://tinyurl.com/morriscarrillo. Interment will take place at Houston National Cemetery on Monday, April 1, 2024, at 1:15 pm.
