By providence God brought my Uncle Omerhi to Houston along with his family. It’s been an awesome period where I have just relished in the deep caring love of family. I miss you but will always remember your encouragement to have a good and joyous life followed by your rapt firm, Tap, Tap, Tap on my shoulder as you try to give strength somehow. Rest In Peace. Your niece, Matilda Numa
On behalf of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of Urhobo Progress Union America (UPUA) and Urhobo-Isoko Association, I express our deepest condolences to the Omerhi family on the passing of their husband, father, brother and uncle, Mr. Augustine Omerhi, who was a very active member of UPUA. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. May you find comfort in knowing that he is now resting in perfect peace in the bosom of the Creator, and in Psalm 90:10 "The days of our years are threescore years and ten, and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years,..and we fly away". He was just a few days shy of fourscore years! To God be the glory.

We have indeed lost a wonderful soul. Daddy I will really miss you. I had hoped to see you in my next visit to the states. You were very generous and accommodating and always finding every opportunity to show love. God has surely added a special one to the saints in heaven.

My gentle uncle Gus and father to so many, we mourn you today and also celebrate your life. You were an anchor of our Houston Community and a fervent promoter of Urhobo traditions. I will always treasure all the quality time you so gladly shared with our family. In all those family celebrations you hosted or we were blessed to share with you; I can still hear you saying to me: "Tony, where is your wrapper and I can help you tie it right". Our families will miss you but you are in a peaceful place now and we are thankful for your life. Our heart and prayers for you and all your surviving family members, today and always. To Tina and the whole Omerhi family we say, "stay strong and the lord will walk with you". God bless.
Rest in perfect peace Elder Augustine Omerhi. Yours was a cheerful, modest and amiable personality. You were good and able to warm the hearts of many. You came to any level that needed your friendship and to chat up. Will miss you. - Alfred O Umaka
