Carol Ann Shuttlesworth's Obituary
After a courageous battle with cancer, Carol Ann Shuttlesworth, 70, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 14, 2025. She was born on January 19, 1955 in Houston, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents William Louis Jr. and Frances Fay Shuttlesworth. She is survived by her two brothers, James Steven Shuttlesworth (Rebecca), Robert Louis Shuttlesworth (Karen), her sister Sharon Fay (Shuttlesworth) Reed (Eric), nieces Lydia Fay Reed and Lamour Leilani Reed, nephew Travis James Reed, extended family, and friends.
Carol grew up primarily in Pasadena, Texas, but also spent a couple of years each living in Irving, Texas and Odessa, Texas. She graduated from Pasadena High School in 1973. After high school she attended Stephen F. Austin State University graduating in 1977 with a degree in Special Education. After graduation, she began her work career in the financial department of Baker Oil Tools which later became Baker Hughes and stayed with them for 46 years until her retirement.
Carol had a love of music, was good at art, and liked to travel to new places. She loved to play tennis in her younger days and became pretty good at it, participating in local tournaments and charity events and getting to rub shoulders with celebrities.
Carol was a lifelong Christian, giving her heart to the Lord when she was 9 years old. While growing up she was active in church life. She sang in the children’s and youth choirs. She was active in GA’s (Girls Auxiliary). She attended various Baptist churches all her adult life and was attending Shadycrest Baptist Church at the time of her passing away. Carol will best be remembered for her positive attitude, always having a kind word to say about the people she encountered in her life. One of her favorite sayings was “May God bless you and a Song of Joy in your heart always”.
Visitation and funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Shadycrest Baptist Church located at 3017 Yost Road, Pearland, Texas. Visitation is from 10:00 AM -11:00 AM, and the funeral service is from 11:00 AM – 12:00 noon. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM at the Habermehl Cemetery located on the San Jacinto Battleground, La Porte, Texas. This service is for family only.
