Claudette was my cousin. Her father Curt (Curtis) was the closest sibling of my father Frank. When we were young and living in Texas I fondly recall visits with Curt, Dot, and Claudette. Curt was a game warden in Goliad at that time and we got to go cruising in the "Gray Ghost" (his game warden car).
Fast forward 10 or so years and my family was living in Albuquerque, NM. When I was graduating from High School Claudette was busy sewing, embroidering, and making me the coolest hand-made shirts. They were simple V-neck linen shirts made with Claudette's loving hands. Each one was embellished with embroidering. I felt special wearing them and everyone seem to love them too.
Fast forward another 10 or 20 years and there was another passion that Claudette and I share. This had to do with genealogy and discovery about all the Oswalt family. This was also the early days of the internet and genealogy and the internet were made for one another. She was diligent in her discovery of our family line and freely shared the knowledge she gathered over the years.
Suffice to say, we each spent the most of our time with our core families spending time with those closest to us. It is with that thought that our thoughts and prayers are with Neal, Randy, Rhonda, and their families. Wishing you strength and comfort in the loss of a warm, loving, caring, and beautiful wife and mother..
