She is preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Dorothy Levi Oswalt. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Roland Riffe; son, Randy Neal Riffe; daughter, Rhonda Johnson and husband Greg; grandchildren, Natasha, Kristan, and Evan; and many other family and friends.Claudette worked alongside her husband when he was church treasurer. She was the gopher who was always going to get this or that. Claudette gathered supplies for classes, cleaning the building, and mowing the lawn.Claudette had a long career as an Administrative Assistant and had great organizational skills. She spent her career working in a chemical plant, a church in La Porte, and the surgery department in a hospital.Claudette loved her family and enjoyed using her skills as a seamstress to make and alter clothing for them. She was also very crafty and loved making gifts for her family and friends. Claudette also loved painting beautiful Texas countryside and floral scenes. She enjoyed many years of travelling and camping with Roland; camping to Claudette had to be in a camper with a comfortable bed, kitchen, and bathroom. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.Services for Claudette will be Thursday June 6, at the Clayton Funeral Home 201 S 3rd in La Porte, Visitation 2:00-3:00 PM Service at 3:00 PM. Interment will be Friday June 7, at 9:30 am at the Houston National Cemetery.
