My thoughts and prayers are with the Lee family.
We met Don and Kay when my dad was going through treatment at MD Anderson. Don and my dad had the same cancer. Don had beat his cancer and was an instant friend to my dad, always encouraging and inspiring. One of my favorite memories of Don was when he and Kay came to the hospital and brought a monkey with Velcro hands so we could put on dad’s iv pole. When Don was in treatment someone had given him a similar monkey and he thought my dad needed one. We got a lot of laughs out of that monkey and it cheered us all up. This is such a small example of Don’t kindness and humor. He always gave me a big hug as he knew what we were going through. He and Kay went out of their way to cheer us all up during one of the toughest times in our lives. Later, once my dad was in remission, my parents and Don and Kay took their campers to Colorado together. My dad loved sitting around the fire and riding the trails. My dad and Don both knew what they had overcome and celebrated life in the way only those who have had a brush with death can. Don was one of a kind. Mon and I like to think my dad was there waiting for him on the other side by the campfire and they will be there with a cup of coffee and a big hug when its our time to join them. Until then he will be so missed.
What wonderful memories of such a great friend and neighbor. The many many "Pickin & Grinnin" sessions that sometimes went to the wee hours. Don could do George Jones better than George himself.
Our prayers are with Kay, Glenn and Tara (Spider girl)!!! Thank you for sharing this wonderful man with us. God Bless!

Kay, you and your family are in my prayers. May God bless you with the consolation of the peace that passes understanding.
So sorry for your loss
Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss... Our thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.
We have loved Don for 54 years, even before he became our Brother-In-Law & have the most wonderful memories, from sharing Birthdays to sharing trips we took together. He was above all a family man but so much more. He was an encyclopedia of knowledge on country music. Many times we have called him & ask "Don, who sang this song, or what were the word to this song" & we didn't have to wait for an answer, he knew them all. He was also a great picker & singer, and knew every word of every George Jones song.We are so blessed to have him in our lives, and will always miss him. Rest in peace,Don.With love Gayle & Paul
