Grace Marie James Shrum's Obituary
Grace Marie James Shrum, 89, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014 in Houston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, William James and Mary Ann Lockwood James; husbands, Louis Lasher, Blake Shipp and Jack Shrum; brothers, George and Joe James; and daughter, Linda Katherine. Grace is survived by her daughter, Lou Ann Lasher Gramann, and husband, Kenneth; grandchildren. Linda Grace Gramann and Jacob Edward Gramann, who adored her and miss her Bingo candy winnings.
At a very young age Grace’s parents passed away and she was raised by the loving family of August Schier. She worked many years at the Warwick Hotel and the Remington Hotel in Telephone services. Grace spent many years in McAllen Texas as a Winter Texan, and gave many happy hours of volunteer work at Edinburg Hospital. She had many friends who loved her and will miss her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Grace’s honor to Hydro angels over America. A Memorial Service for Grace will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 7:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581 with Pastor Keith Anderson officiating. A private family interment will be at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery at a later time.
