View Tribute Book Jerome Harold Ellis Sr., 70 passed away Friday, August 4, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Mildred Ellis; daughter, Shana Ellis, and sister, Brenda Nix. Jerome is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Pat Ellis; son, Jerome Harold Ellis II and wife, Danielle; daughter, Jennifer Harvey; brothers, Ellery Keith Ellis and wife, Karen; aunt, Clara Bates; nephew, Deron Nix; grandchildren, Steven Cox, Madison Ellis, Samantha Collins, Myles Chapman, Brooke Ellis, Morgan Harvey, and Megan Harvey; great grandchild, Sophia Cox and a host of many other family and friends.Jerome was a loving and devoted father to his family. He was baptized at an early age and was strong in his faith. Jerome was a graduate of Southern University and A&M College. His love of engineering and travel took him from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Schenectady, New York, Roanoke, Virginia, and San Francisco, California while working in the Technology Marketing program with General Electric as one of their first African American application engineers. His strong work ethic also led him to a 20-year career with NASA. Jerome also took great pride in being an accomplished saxophone musician. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.Services for Jerome will be held at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation will be Friday, August 11, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. The Chapel Service will take place at the funeral home, Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 10:00 am with Reverend Charles Perry Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Houston Memorial Gardens in Pearland, Texas.
