John "Marshall" Jetter's Obituary
John “Marshall” Jetter, 79, passed away July 23, 2016 surrounded by his loving wife and family. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Rachel Jetter; and son-in-law, Joe Finney. Marshall is survived by his wife, Lucia Matthes Jetter; son, Mark Jetter and wife, Angie; daughters, Marcia Finney-Bettilyon and husband, Bruce, Minnette McArthur and husband, Steve; sisters, Janice Pfeffer and husband, Charles, Diana Herring and husband, Rick, Brenda Polak and husband, Dennis; sister-in-law, Frida Corrales; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Marshall was born in Rosebud, Texas. He went on to proudly serve in the United States Navy. Soon after serving his country, he and Lucia were married and they have enjoyed 58 wonderful years together. Marshall was a very good provider for his family, he work for Houston Lighting & Power for 33 years. Marshall had a mechanical mind and he could take almost anything broken apart and have it working like new again. He was very kind and helpful in his old neighborhood where he would fix a car, washer machine or anything his neighbors needed. Marshall always enjoyed fishing and later in life he took up the game of golf and enjoyed it as well. His grandkids all called him Papaw and he loved them all very much. Marshall also became a big animal lover and there was a special place in his heart for his dogs Gomer, Suzie & Sassie. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The visitation for Marshall will be held Monday, July 25, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00pm with a rosary to be recited at 6:00pm by Deacon David Bowman at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The Funeral Mass will take place Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 11:00am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 6502 County Road 48, Manvel, Texas 77578 with Father Tom Ponzini officiating.
