Joe,
Your genuine passion to mentor young geoscientists will forever be in our hearts
I'm privileged to have known and learnt from you
Rest in peace Joe!
Mr Joe Brewton was a very good teacher even at his old age. He taught me Mapping in 2013 SCA's Boot Camp and we really enjoyed him.
May his soul RIP.
May his soul rest in perfect peace
Joe was a wonderful person. We were lucky to have him and Karen for neighbors. He was just so smart, had a great sense of humor, and showed such enthusiasm for so many things we loved like NASA, satellites, and the stars, among so many more things. We still look for his truck; we don't know why, but that was the lasting, wonderful impression he had on all of us; you never wanted to see him go. But he has gone, and our hearts reach out to Karen and the girls and all the family for this great hole his passing has created. We rest assured Joe is looking down upon us with that great smile, and if we are lucky enough, we will be rejoined in the future. Blessings and love to all Joe's family and friends.
Dear Karen and family,
My deepest sympathy to all of you. While I never had the pleasure to know Joe, I feel I have known him through you Karen.
My thoughts are with you my friend.
Love,
Jeanne
I am very sorry to hear about Joe!
I am a Bahraini national who met Joe in 2014 in the SCA's Geoscience Boot Camp.
It was a great benefit to me as a fresh graduate to interact with such a wonderful man. He was dedicated and knowledgeable. He received my questions and inquires with patience and answered them with open heart.
I learnt a lot from him and I consider myself lucky to have been one of his students.
May his pure soul rest in peace and may Almighty shower his family and loved ones with patience and mercy.
My sincere condolences to the Brewton family. I have known Joe since starting work at SCA 3 yrs ago and it was certainly a pleasure to know him. Once Joe found out that my son was interested in being a geologist, he loaded him with books, which he still reads and refers to. Joe also gave him a core from an actual dig that he cherishes!
I appreciate the interest he took in my son and appreciate the conversations about rocks that they had, helping to foster his interest in geology.
Joe also told him, "If you wanna be a GREAT geologist, you MUST go to UT!" We all know how Joe loved UT.
Our loss is heaven's gain. We will miss Joe!
Hookem Horns!
I'm so sorry for the loss of your loved one. When I went through the loss of my father a scripture that brought me comfort is Isaiah 41:10. There it invites us to turn to God for strength and comfort. He promises to "fortify you" and says "I will really hold on to you with my right hand". May the God of all comfort be with you at this time.(2 Cor.1:2-4)
Joe Brewton,
From the Lord we all came and undoubtedly to him we shall all returns. You had lived a blossom life filled with joy, peace, harmony and above all the happiest one you could ever imagined.
The Geoscience knowledge you impacted unto us will forever remained GOLD at every points of related discussion; Workplace, conferences, seminar etc. You are a true mentor. God blessed you and once again RIP. Ameen
