He is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Vivian Chandler Stanton, and wife Shirley Lorraine Stanton. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Mark Stanton and wife Vivian; daughters, Kimberly Gerami and husband Russell, Karen Stehle and husband Joe, Cathy Cunningham and husband Gene; brother, Michael Stanton; sister, Joanne Bruce; grandchildren, Micah, Joshua, Katrina, Charlotte, and Gwendolyn, and a host of other family and friends.Patrick was a man of faith. He was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in LaPorte, where he was active in Lector duties, and the Knights of Columbus. Patrick’s occupation as an accountant included a long career journey. His journey began with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of West Virginia, and a Master’s degree from the University of Houston Clear Lake. Eventually Patrick became the Dean of San Jacinto College, La Porte. Patrick loved the outdoors, and anything related to nature. He enjoyed bird watching, fishing, hiking nature trails, and spending time at the zoo. Patrick was a sports enthusiast as well. He was an avid fan of the Houston Astros, and any sport his alma mater, the University of West Virginia, was playing. Patrick will be missed by all who knew and loved him.Services for Patrick will be: Rosary and Visitation Monday, July 25 6-8 pm at St. Joseph’s Chapel at St. Marys church. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday July 26, 10:00 am at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church 816 Park Dr. Laporte. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery Houston, TX.
