Ricardo Basaldua Soliz passed away in Pearland, Texas, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, May 6th, 2026, at the age of 66. He is preceded in death by his parents, Reynaldo Soliz and Estella Basaldua, his brother, Jesse Soliz, and his sister, Mary Mohammad. Left to cherish Ricardo’s memory are his wife, Linda Soliz; sons, Ricardo Soliz Jr and fiancé Lucy, Robert Soliz and wife Daniele; daughters, Desiree Perales and husband Peter, Stephanie Bialobos and partner Carnell, Christina Bialobos and partner Ray, Naomi Soliz Resendez and husband Horacio, and Aubrianna Soliz; brother, Ray Soliz; grandchildren, Robert Jr, Denise, Payeton, Jesse, Javier, Victoria, Jacob, Alyssa, Abby, Janai, Michael, Jadon, Gabriel, Destiny, Nathan, Cruzy, Lili, Christian, and Mia; one great grandchild on the way, Elias; and a host of many other family and friends.
Ricardo will be remembered for the steady strength and warmth he brought to everyone who knew him. A man with a heart of a lion, he was the calm in every storm and the rock in every crisis, always smiling, always prepared, and always willing to help. He loved fiercely, especially his wife, who was his whole world, and he was deeply proud of his children and grandchildren.
Known for his strong work ethic and the way he could fix just about anything, Ricardo was also everyone’s coach; competitive, strong-willed, and quick to step in with encouragement. In his free time, he enjoyed Big Red, a cold Budweiser, cards, playing pool, cheering on the Houston Texans, and gathering family and friends around the grill, especially for the brisket he became famous for. He treasured road trips and quiet nights looking at the stars, and he never passed up a good game of horseshoes or cornhole. Ricardo will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services for Ricardo will be held at Clayton Funeral Home of Pearland on Saturday, May 16th, 2026. His family will receive guests during a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 am, with the service commencing at 11:00 am with Chaplain Natasha Young. Interment will follow the service at South Park Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
